John Meek was a great man who never met a stranger. He was a passionate man who enjoyed life to the fullest extent. He loved to carve and wittle on little pieces of wood until they took shape of something. He was an amazing mechanic who could listen to a vehicle over the phone and tell you how to fix it without ever looking at it. He was a great father, brother, and uncle. He was only 55 years old when God decided that he needed him more than we did but he will forever be in our hearts and lives through the stories we shared with him.

Even though most of us haven't seen him for years now except for on tragic events he was still an important part of all of our lives.  As his daughter I have created this website to allow people he knew who may not be able to attend his memorial to still be a part of his memories.  He taught me many valuable things over the years and the main one was to lean on the people around you when you need to and don't suffer in silence. Unfortunately, my father and I didn't often see eye to eye on things but many say that is because we are too much alike.  I would love to hear any memories that you have of him, with him, or have heard about him. If you have any photos of him that you would like to share feel free to email them to me and i will upload them to the website immediately. My email is skittlesmomma27@gmail.com.

His memorial service will be held this coming Saturday, December 14th, 2013 at 2 pm.m at Yorktown First Baptist Church. Brother Dewayne Rash and Brother Robert Greene will be officiating the ceremony. A dinner will follow immediately in the fellowship hall. Feel free to bring a dish or drink or nothing at all. I would love to see each and every one of you there but if it's not possible you can share your memories on here and it will be available for viewing at the memorial celebration.
